Tmoney said on March 27 it held its annual general meeting at its headquarters on Namdaemun-ro and appointed Choi Moon-geun (최문근) as its new chief executive.
Choi is an IT platform specialist who has broad experience in businesses including digital marketing, financial automation, infrastructure and cloud at LG CNS. He most recently served as head of LG CNS's Entrue division, overseeing data-based businesses.
Tmoney plans to use the appointment to ensure the stable operation of its public transport-based services and to step up its shift to a data- and AI-based mobility platform.
Choi said he would improve customer travel convenience based on Tmoney's transport and payment infrastructure. He said he would drive sustainable growth through innovation centred on data, AI and platforms.
