KakaoPay said on Feb. 23 it has revamped its telecom plan comparison service as KakaoPay Mobile.

KakaoPay Mobile expands an existing comparison function for budget mobile plans. It allows users to compare plans from the three mobile carriers, including SKT, KT and LG U+, and various budget mobile (MVNO) operators on one screen and apply for activation. Users can compare plans and proceed with switching carriers within the KakaoPay app.

The service combines the comparison process with KakaoPay Points benefits. Users can receive up to 37,000 points depending on activation conditions. Users who sign up by the end of February will receive a first-month mobile fee waiver and support for USIM and eSIM issuance costs.

KakaoPay is also running a new promotion. It will provide information in early March on plans with higher benefits to users who apply by Feb. 28 for a "March plan advance notification". It will then pay 5,000 KakaoPay Points to 500 users selected by lottery among those who complete sign-ups. Users can receive up to 500 points by sharing the promotion page.

KakaoPay said it revamped the service so users can handle everything from comparisons to activation at once without visiting multiple sites. It added it will enhance personalized recommendation features based on usage patterns and expand bundled benefits.
