Hecto Financial says quarterly cross-border settlement volume tops 350 billion won

Global fintech company Hecto Financial said on March 25 it has set a record quarterly transaction volume in its cross-border settlement business targeting global markets. It said the business shows a structure that is not swayed by specific external variables.

Amid discussions on stablecoin legislation in markets at home and abroad, Hecto Financial said its cross-border business is growing mainly on an existing bank network and a fiat-currency settlement model.

Hecto Financial's cross-border settlement transaction volume totalled 350 billion won in the first quarter of 2026, it said. The company said it has maintained annual growth of more than 200 percent since the business was ramped up.

Most of its current revenue comes from fiat-currency payments and net settlement for global platforms, not stablecoins, it said. It said the impact of recent discussions on changes in virtual-asset regulation on its results is limited.

Hecto Financial said it is pursuing a hybrid strategy that uses stablecoins as a means to improve efficiency on top of a fiat-currency-focused business base. Based on this structure, global platforms including AliExpress, Temu and TikTok are participating as settlement partners, it said.

The cross-border business has a structure in which profitability improves as transaction volume expands, the company said. It said its operating leverage effect is increasing.

Hecto Financial said the cross-border market it targets is expected to grow to as much as $26 trillion around 2035. The company said it plans to respond to market expansion based on its global infrastructure.

Choi Jong-won (최종원), chief executive officer of Hecto Financial, said the essence of Hecto Financial lies in combining existing financial networks and innovative financial technology to lower customer costs and improve efficiency. He said the company will continue to expand its global business based on fiat-currency-driven growth and also prepare in AI and stablecoins.
