Snowflake, a cloud-based data platform, has cut about 70 jobs. The technical documentation team was the main target, Business Insider reported on March 20 local time.

The technical documentation team had been responsible for documenting Snowflake technology and explaining how to use it. It supported developers and customers so they could properly understand and use the product.

Snowflake said the move was part of adjusting its organisation to align with its long-term strategy, calling it a natural step at a fast-growing company. It added it would continue investing in its workforce and products to provide customers with the best support.

Job cuts have also continued recently at big tech companies. Atlassian cut 10 percent of its workforce earlier this month, and Block announced last month it would cut 40 percent of its employees. Both companies cited an AI shift as the reason for the reductions.
