Kurly said on Monday it has opened the Kurly Now Seocho store.
Kurly Now Seocho is its third outlet, following DMC and Dogok. Kurly said it decided to expand the service based on consumer response in previously opened areas. The company said the store stocks about 6,000 items, including fresh food, snacks, meal kits, luxury and indie beauty products, bakery items, desserts and household goods.
Kurly Now is a quick-commerce service that lets customers shop in about 1 hour. As of December last year, Kurly Now order volume rose about 2.5 times from a year earlier.
Seocho-gu has many offices, leading to frequent orders for lunch boxes and snacks, and it also has large residential complexes. Kurly expects strong demand for fresh food, meal kits and household goods.
Kurly will start on-demand delivery from Monday for areas including Seocho-dong, Bangbae-dong, Banpo-dong and Jamwon-dong. The service will operate 7 days a week, with orders available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Lee Jeong-eon (이정언), head of the Kurly Now group, said, "With the opening of the Kurly Now Seocho store, customers in Seocho, Bangbae and Banpo can now get Kurly products quickly in about 1 hour." He added, "Based on the successful know-how from DMC and Dogok, we are planning to expand to additional locations within this year, not only the Seocho store."
