Nutanix said on Feb. 19 local time it launched an integrated AI factory solution in cooperation with Nvidia and others, targeting government agencies and regulated industries.

The company said the Nutanix solution is based on Nvidia’s government AI factory architecture and provides U.S. Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) encryption, standard Kubernetes management and continuous security monitoring.

Nvidia containers run on the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and integrate with Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI). NKP runs on both virtual machines and physical servers, applies encryption at every layer and shortens the time it takes to get AI models to a state where they can be deployed in practice.

The company said customers can choose which AI models to use and can maintain data sovereignty by not relying on external application interfaces (APIs) and external clouds. Commercial models such as Gemini, GPT and Claude do not run locally, but open-source public-weight models can be used.

Nutanix previously launched a distributed sovereign cloud with 160 new features for data and application control. The company said the AI factory solution is the result of combining that with Nvidia hardware.
