[DigitalToday AI Reporter] Billionaire investor Mark Cuban (마크 큐반) said he believes in a future where humans and robots coexist, but argued humanoid robots are not the answer.

He said, "Humanoid robots will fail within 5 years, or at most 10," and voiced skepticism about humanlike robot projects being pursued by Tesla and OpenAI, Business Insider reported on Thursday.

Cuban stressed that designing spaces and robots together is more efficient than trying to fit humanoid robots into existing spaces. He cited redesigning living spaces so robots that lift objects like spiders or ants can operate inside homes.

He said, "Robots should not be humanoid but made in the optimal form," and argued that home robots should also be designed to fit the structure of the house. He cited Amazon warehouse robot systems as an example, saying they are optimized for logistics work but are not humanoid.

Tesla, OpenAI and Agility Robotics, among others, are focusing on humanoid development. Agility Robotics says humanoids can address manufacturing labor shortages and is supplying robots to Amazon and Toyota.

Cuban maintains that space-optimized robots, rather than humanlike robots, are more practical. His argument that robots tailored to environments may be more efficient is fueling a new debate in the humanoid race led by Tesla and OpenAI.
