Music tech company Verses said on Feb. 20 it has launched an interactive fan service that lets users talk with an AI recreation of an artist and enjoy content such as photos and quizzes. The first artist is rapper Giriboy, and the service is called “Giriboy’s Mini Homepage.”
Built around a Y2K-style mini-homepage concept, the service lets fans click a character to chat with an AI that has learned Giriboy’s way of speaking. The service uses a “worry counseling center” concept, offering replies that reflect Giriboy’s candid and blunt style. It also includes a puzzle game using unpublished photo shoots, a “studio” space decorated with items, and background music from Giriboy’s signature songs.
Verses trained Giriboy’s conversation patterns and speaking style using its in-house multimodal AI. Fans who took part in pre-release tests said they felt as if they were talking directly with Giriboy even though they knew it was AI.
Giriboy’s agency, Standard Friends, said, “It is meaningful that a space has been created where the artist and fans can meet comfortably at any time.” Verses said its AI persona also has a function that recreates songs in the artist’s voice, but that it was not included in this service.
Verses CEO Seonguk Lee (이성욱) said, “We expect to expand the space for communication between artists and fans through AI personas and present a new business model to the music industry.”
