Epopsoft, which runs the AI English learning app Malhaebokha, said on Thursday its global version, Epop, recently ranked No. 1 in education revenue on Taiwan’s Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Epop debuted in Taiwan in May last year. From December, 7 months after launch, it has stayed in the top 5 on the popularity rankings of both stores. It reached No. 1 in the revenue category on Feb. 13.

The company said Epop has topped 700,000 downloads in Taiwan alone and has a 4.8 out of 5 rating. Epop is also maintaining a top 3 popularity ranking among education apps in nearby Chinese-speaking markets such as Hong Kong and Macau and showing steady growth, the company said.

Epopsoft CEO Woo-jun Kim (김우준) said, "Taiwan is as enthusiastic about English education as South Korea." He said the system combining education and games, along with natural translations enabled by thorough localisation work, provided Taiwan users with an immersive learning experience that led to strong results.
