Bound4, Open Network System join forces to commercialise physical AI and large world models

Bound4, a data foundry company, said on Thursday it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Open Network System, an AI infrastructure and solutions firm, to commercialise physical AI and large world models (LWM).

The company said various challenges are becoming more concrete in the process of applying large world models to industry. It said if high-quality physical data and large-scale computing infrastructure to train and verify it are operated separately, there are limits to narrowing the simulation-to-real gap. The two companies decided to link Bound4's experience in designing and building robotics data with Open Network System's capabilities in designing high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure to create an integrated pipeline spanning data generation through model training, verification and deployment.

Founded in 2019, Bound4 builds and provides turnkey "foundation data" needed to develop AI models.

Bound4 plans to expand the scope of physical AI infrastructure construction through the agreement, based on its experience building AI data factories with Samsung Electronics, Naver Labs and Shinhan Card.

Bound4 Chief Executive In-ho Hwang (황인호) said commercialising large world models is possible when data and computing power are connected without interruption. He said the company will combine its Nvidia Omniverse-based physical data building capabilities with Open Network System's infrastructure design capabilities into a non-stop pipeline to build a hyperconnected environment with no gap between simulation and reality.
