South Korea's Broadcast Media Communications Commission held a launch ceremony on March 19 at the government complex in Gwacheon for its 17th citizen policy reporters group.

This year’s group comprises 15 members, including five influencers and 10 reporting journalists. People in their 20s to 40s were selected from a range of occupations, including university students, office workers and freelancers. Under the theme, "Make policy easy, deepen communication," they will produce and distribute digital content on broadcasting, media and telecommunications policies through the commission’s official channels such as YouTube, Instagram and blogs.

The citizen policy reporters group has been operating since 2009. It serves to convey policies that may feel difficult in an accessible way from the public’s perspective.

Kim Jong-cheol (김종철), chairman of the commission, said, "Please do your best with a sense of mission so that the commission can establish itself as a true committee for communication with the public."
