Samsung SDS on March 18 held a 'Samsung SDS Industry Day' seminar at an international conference hall at the Government Sejong Convention Center for officials from administrative and public institutions, sharing public-sector AI transformation (AX) cases and strategies.
'Industry Day' is an event that introduces the direction of Samsung SDS solutions and services and shares real-world application cases for various industries, including the public sector as well as manufacturing and distribution, finance and national defense. This seminar was the first Industry Day event this year and was held under the theme of public-sector AX transformation.
Samsung SDS won contracts last year for a cross-government AI common platform utilisation project and an intelligent work management project. It is currently applying related services for central government ministries and local governments to support the spread of public-sector AX. About 250 IT officials from central government ministries, administrative bodies and public corporations and agencies attended the event. Presenters from organisations using Samsung SDS solutions, including the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, introduced on-site application cases.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety said NIA, which carried out the cross-government AI common platform project jointly promoted by the two ministries, presented the direction for advancing public-sector AX and ways to use the cross-government AI common platform. The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education shared organisational changes and the settling-in process after adopting the generative AI-based collaboration solution Brity Works & Copilot, as well as cases of operational innovation.
A case of an AI civil complaint service for the general public, officially opened last month, was also introduced. The service is an integrated AI civil complaint service applied to Government24, and is a case of implementing a civil complaint processing and response system using the cross-government AI common platform.
Lee Jung-heon (이정헌), head of Samsung SDS' Strategic Marketing Office and a vice president, said the seminar was an opportunity to share the direction for advancing public-sector AX and actual innovation cases. He said the company plans to continue providing AX insights to customers through tailored seminars by industry, including manufacturing and distribution, finance and national defense.
