KakaoBank said on March 19 it was selected for the grand prize at the 34th Consumers' Choice Good Advertising Awards.
The awards are jointly hosted by the Korea Advertisers Association and the Korea Federation of Consumer Organizations, and consumers take part directly in judging. Winners are chosen based on criteria including creativity, message delivery and consumer usefulness. This year, a panel of advertising experts and 100 consumers selected a total of 41 winning works.
KakaoBank won the grand prize, the top award among all entries, for its “My first AI bank, KakaoBank” video.
The video is structured around a “conversational AI service.” It shows financial tasks handled through dialogue, including transfers, interest calculations and membership fee management, to highlight convenience in using financial services.
It was evaluated as intuitively expressing conversational financial services through everyday requests such as “Send 100,000 won to my nephew” and “Tell me this month’s membership fee payment details.”
Since being released on KakaoBank’s official YouTube channel, the video has logged about 15.5 million cumulative views in about three months.
A KakaoBank official said, “We wanted to convey a more convenient financial user experience through conversational AI services,” adding, “We will continue to present customer-centered content.”
