Microsoft is hiring the team behind AI-based collaboration platform Cove to strengthen its whiteboard technology, TechCrunch reported on March 18.
Cove is a startup founded in 2023 by former Google Maps developers including Steven Chau (스티븐 차우), Andy Szybalski (앤디 시발스키) and Mike Chu (마이크 추). It developed an infinite whiteboard that uses AI to automatically generate various tasks. Cove drew attention after raising $6 million from Sequoia Capital, Elad Gil, Homebrew, Adverb, Scott Belsky and Lenny Rachitsky, among others.
The platform was designed to overcome limitations of AI chat interfaces and let users collaborate with AI using various materials such as browsers, PDFs and images.
Microsoft has been expanding AI collaboration features through Whiteboard Copilot. Cove said its vision to redefine how people collaborate with AI remains unchanged. It said it was happy to have the opportunity to pursue bigger goals at Microsoft.
