Deputy Prime Minister and Science and ICT Minister Baek Gyeong-hun (배경훈) attended the "2026 India AI Impact Summit" held in New Delhi on Thursday local time as South Korea's chief delegate and stressed the importance of a vision for AI progress.
The India AI Impact Summit is a top-level international event in the AI field being held for the fourth time. Baek attended the chief delegate session and shared Korea's experience in digital infrastructure competitiveness, AI transition and implementation of the AI Basic Act.
Baek also held a bilateral meeting with Anthropic during the summit schedule. They discussed the impact and outlook for industry, and cooperation in AI safety, focusing on the agent AI "Claude CoWork" unveiled last month.
On the second day of the AI Impact Summit on Feb. 20, Baek is set to chair the OECD GPAI Ministerial Council and continue steps for global AI cooperation, including bilateral meetings with major countries.
