[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Google is expanding its AI assistant feature, "Personal Intelligence", to all users in the United States, TechCrunch reported on March 17 local time. The feature, previously available only to paid users, is supported across AI Mode, the Gemini app, Chrome and other environments.

Personal Intelligence links with Gmail and Google Photos and analyzes users' past purchase history, travel schedules and preferences to provide tailored recommendations. For example, it can recommend similar products based on a shoe brand a user previously bought, or analyze family trip photos in Google Photos to suggest travel plans.

The feature is off by default, and users can choose whether to connect it. Google stressed that Personal Intelligence does not directly learn from Gmail or a Google Photos library, and is used only for specific prompts and AI Mode responses.

Personal Intelligence is available only on personal Google accounts and does not support Workspace business, enterprise or education accounts.
