The Ministry of Science and ICT's Postal Service said on Feb. 19 it will issue 480,000 commemorative stamps on Feb. 27 for two Jeju oreum, Jimi-bong and Baekyaki Oreum.

The stamps feature full images of the two oreum photographed from the air by drone. Jimi-bong shown on the stamps is an oreum in Jongdal-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju City, and is known for its horseshoe-shaped crater. From the top, visitors can take in open views including Seongsan Ilchulbong, Udo, Jongdal Port and the sea off Jongdal-ri.

Baekyaki Oreum is located in Seongeup-ri, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo, and is known for a wide and deep circular crater in the center. It has an elevation of 356.9 metres and is relatively high, but its slope is gentle, allowing family visitors to climb without difficulty.

The commemorative Jeju oreum stamps will be issued as permanent stamps. Permanent stamps do not display a face value, so even if postal rates change, mail weighing more than 5 grams and up to 25 grams can be sent at any time without paying an additional fee.
