Dongwon F&B said on Monday it signed a business agreement with Seoul National University to help spread a healthy food culture and foster a balanced dietary environment.

Dongwon F&B signed the agreement, titled "Business agreement to lead the food industry for health value creation," at Seoul National University's administration building in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, on Monday. Kim Seong-yong (김성용), chief executive of Dongwon F&B, Yu Hong-lim (유홍림), president of Seoul National University, and Yoon Young-ho (윤영호), head of SNU's Healthy Culture Project Group, attended along with staff members and faculty from both institutions.

Under the agreement, Dongwon F&B will receive consulting from SNU's Healthy Culture Project Group on "corporate health community culture" for workers' health. It also plans to collaborate by developing and producing products in line with healthy food standards presented by experts at Seoul National University.

The key products for cooperation are Dongwon Tuna, a seafood protein food, and Yangban 100 Rice, an additive-free instant cooked rice product. Dongwon F&B and SNU's Healthy Culture Project Group will produce content on nutrition and food-culture information using the two products and spread it through QR codes on product packaging. The company is also pursuing promotions such as discount sales and purchase verification. It plans to expand the scope of cooperation to product categories such as dairy and beverages.

A Dongwon F&B official said the agreement is expected to become a model of industry-academia cooperation that contributes to society's health through healthy food. The official added the company will introduce products that balance taste and nutrition with experts at Seoul National University.
