McDonald's Korea said on Feb. 19 it will raise prices for some menu items from Feb. 20.

The price adjustment applies to 35 a la carte items. The average increase is about 2.4 percent. Prices will rise by a minimum of 100 won and a maximum of 400 won.

The company said the price hike was an unavoidable step due to a weak currency and rises in raw material and labour costs. It said it reduced both the number of affected items and the size of the increases as much as possible to minimise customers' burden as overall costs rise.

A McDonald's Korea official said, "Even after the price increase, we will offer major menu items at reasonable prices through the lunch discount platform McLunch, and we will also help customers enjoy the menu without 부담 through discount platforms such as 'Happy Snack' and discount coupons on the official app."
