[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Israeli application security testing company Checkmarx is integrating with Kiro, AWS' AI-based integrated development environment, to apply AI-based real-time code security directly in developers' environments.

SiliconANGLE recently reported that the integration will allow developers to immediately detect and resolve security issues without leaving the IDE.

Checkmarx's developer support features run security analysis in the Kiro environment to help ensure security is considered from the early stages of coding. Developers can activate the developer assist feature with a simple setup through an official Checkmarx IDE extension, and command-line interface (CLI) support is also planned. Analysed security results are also reflected in the Checkmarx One platform, supporting application security (AppSec) and engineering leaders in centrally managing project-wide risks.

Checkmarx stressed that the integration will help companies maintain enterprise-grade security and governance while adopting AI-based development. Jonathan Rende (조나단 렌데), Checkmarx's chief product officer, said, “In AI-led development environments, security must also keep pace with the speed of development.” He said, “Developer assist provides real-time security insights while maintaining centralised visibility and control.”
