KB Securities said on Feb. 19 it delivered its "Jeong Deundeun KB Box" containing ready-to-eat meals and bakery items for elderly people in vulnerable groups in Seoul for the Lunar New Year holiday.
The "Jeong Deundeun KB Box" is a social contribution programme that supports local community neighbours with a variety of food and daily necessities. For 10 years, it has shared support with about 6,500 households every year, including this Lunar New Year holiday.
This year’s "Jeong Deundeun KB Box" was put together with products from Bakery Goodness, a workplace project for employment-vulnerable groups in Gangseo-gu.
Bakery Goodness was established with support from local governments and private companies to create jobs for vulnerable groups. It provides baking and pastry training for multicultural women and retired middle-aged people and hires them to run the business. It is currently preparing to obtain social enterprise certification.
A KB Securities official said, "We hope elderly people in the community will spend a warm holiday through the Jeong Deundeun KB Box." The official added, "We will continue to work to fulfil our corporate social responsibility."
