[Digital Today reporter Daegeon Seok] DS Danseok took part in a bio-feedstock forum to discuss diversifying raw material procurement. DS Danseok said on Feb. 19 it participated in POC 2026 held in Malaysia. The event is an international conference that discusses price and supply-demand prospects for palm oil, lauric oil and vegetable oils used as biodiesel feedstocks.
The event drew participants from more than 50 countries, including bioenergy companies, financial institutions and policy authorities. They shared annual market trends and discussed feedstock procurement, expanding sales channels and ways to cooperate on technology. DS Danseok said it reviewed changes in global feedstock markets and the trend of rising biodiesel demand.
The company focused on networking to diversify feedstock procurement and expand overseas sales channels. It shared its experience producing biodiesel using low-cost feedstocks such as palm by-products and used cooking oil. It said it has expanded the scope of use to a level that meets biodiesel quality standards through recent process upgrades, widening its range of feedstock use and moving away from a structure centered on existing high-priced feedstocks.
DS Danseok last year declared its 2030 vision and moved to expand next-generation energy businesses, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), recycled plastic (PCR), energy storage systems (ESS) and micro modular reactors (MMR).
A company official said, "This event was an opportunity to review global feedstock markets and biodiesel demand trends and broaden our sales channels and scope of cooperation." The official said, "As all plants applying the 2026 process upgrades will be operating normally, we expect profitability to improve through expanded overseas exports and diversified feedstock procurement."
