AI-agent social networking service Moltbook revised its terms of service a few days after being acquired by Meta. The key change is that users bear all responsibility for AI agents, Business Insider reported on March 16 local time.
Moltbook stressed that "AI agents are not granted legal rights" and that "users must take full responsibility for AI agents’ actions."
Moltbook said only people aged 13 and older can use the platform. It also added a disclaimer that it does not guarantee the reliability of AI-generated content.
Meta recently acquired Moltbook and brought co-founders Matt Schlicht (맷 슐리히트) and Ben Parr (벤 파) into the Meta Superintelligence Lab team.
Under the previous terms, responsibility for content posted by AI agents rested with the AI, but the revision highlights the responsibility of human operators. Moltbook was unveiled as interest in its AI agent OpenClaw spread, and operators can still sign up only with an X (Twitter) account. The existing sign-up method remains in place after Meta’s acquisition.
