A report has said Apple will delay the iPhone 18 launch to spring 2027. SiliconANGLE reported this on Jan. 1, citing MacRumors.

The reason for the delay is said to center on problems developing display and camera technologies.

The iPhone 18 is expected to place Face ID and the camera under the display to deliver a completely uninterrupted screen, but the technical hurdles are larger than expected, the report said.

As a result, Apple appears to be adjusting its product development cycle to manage supply chain risks and account for the complexity of manufacturing more advanced components, SiliconANGLE reported.

Apple is also expected to update the Pro models every year. The iPhone is a key product that accounts for more than half of Apple's revenue and has maintained steady demand each year even without major upgrades.

Prominent Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also forecast that the iPhone 18 could be delayed. He expected iPhone 18 Pro models and a foldable iPhone to be released in the second half of 2026, followed by the standard iPhone 18 and an upgraded iPhone 18e in the first half of 2027.
