India's vibe coding platform Emergent has been growing rapidly, topping $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) just 8 months after launch, TechCrunch reported on Feb. 17 local time.
Emergent doubled revenue in the past month and has secured a user base of 6 million across 190 countries, TechCrunch reported. Of those, 150,000 are paying users. More than 7 million applications have been created through the platform.
Emergent CEO Mukund Jha (무쿤드 자) said 40 percent of users are small and medium-sized businesses and 70 percent are non-developers with no coding experience. They mainly use the platform to digitise work previously run on spreadsheets, email and messengers, or to build customised software.
Emergent competes with Replit, Lovable, Rocket.new and Wabi, and most users are developing business apps such as customised CRM, ERP, inventory management and logistics tools, TechCrunch said.
Some 80 to 90 percent of new projects are focused on mobile apps.
Emergent generates revenue through subscriptions, usage-based pricing, and deployment and hosting fees, and is posting fast growth across all segments. The United States and Europe account for 70 percent of total revenue, and the Indian market is also growing rapidly. The platform is currently used mainly by consumers and small and medium-sized businesses, but it is also testing enterprise services.
Emergent has recently introduced mobile apps for iOS and Android, and supports users in developing apps directly and publishing them to Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store. Users can build apps, websites and platforms through text input or voice commands, and can switch between mobile and desktop versions.
