Global digital trust company DigiCert said on March 16 it was named a leader in the “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Certificate Lifecycle Management (Certificate Lifecycle Management, CLM) 2026 Vendor Assessment” report issued by IT market research firm IDC.

DigiCert was assessed as a leader in the report based on its capabilities to support modernisation of organisations’ public key infrastructure (Public Key Infrastructure, PKI) and automation of certificate operations.

IDC analyst Jennifer Glenn (제니퍼 글렌) said, “The CLM market has now reached a clear inflection point.” She said certificate-related outages already have wide-ranging impacts across applications, supply chains and digital services, and the risk will deepen further as certificate renewal cycles continue to shorten and companies begin adopting post-quantum cryptography (Post-Quantum Cryptography, PQC).

DigiCert Chief Product Officer Deepika Chauhan (디피카 차우한) said changes in the digital trust environment are adding to companies’ already complex security challenges, and certificate outages continue to make news headlines. She said as various challenges increase the industry’s difficulties, CLM is becoming an essential element in implementing digital trust, and the publication of an IDC MarketScape report focusing on the market is timely.
