ServiceNow is acquiring Israeli big data startup Pyramid Analytics as it moves to target the AI-based business intelligence (BI) market, SiliconANGLE reported on Thursday.

The deal is estimated to be worth several hundred million dollars.

ServiceNow will secure generative BI technology through the acquisition. Pyramid provides a “decision intelligence” platform that integrates AI, traditional BI and data science. Users can ask questions in natural language to automate instant data analysis, dashboard creation and trend analysis. SiliconANGLE reported that this is intended to overcome the limitation of existing BI tools that require SQL knowledge and support from data teams.

Gaurav Rewari (가우라브 레와리), head of data and analytics at ServiceNow, said it will integrate Pyramid technology directly into customer systems to support real-time data analysis. He said the goal is to provide instant business insights without intervention by data teams.

ServiceNow also plans to strengthen functions that allow AI agents to automatically detect and resolve problems.
