Daesang said on Thursday it will cut prices for its full range of corn-based oligosaccharide and corn syrup products.
Daesang will cut prices of three consumer products in its oligosaccharide line, including Cheongjeongwon oligosaccharide, apple oligosaccharide and cooking oligosaccharide, as well as consumer products such as Cheongjeongwon corn syrup, by 5 percent across the board.
It also plans to lower prices of business-to-business products by an average of 3 to 5 percent.
A Daesang official said the company decided to cut prices to join the government's price-stabilisation stance. "Daesang will continue to work to ease household burdens and strengthen consumer benefits," the official said.
