Com2uS said on Thursday it has closed submissions for the second global game development contest 'Com:On'.
'Com:On', hosted by Com2uS and the Game Culture Foundation, was set up to discover creative development talent and promising intellectual property (IP) with global competitiveness.
The contest ran from Oct. 30 last year to Dec. 31. About 150 original games for mobile and PC platforms were submitted. It was open to South Korea residents aged 14 and older, applying as individuals or in teams of up to 10 people. Many entries stood out for diverse genres and fresh ideas.
Com2uS plans to conduct a first round of screening of proposals and videos. It will then hold a second round that includes submission of a prototype build and evaluation of presentations, before selecting 4 final winners.
Winning teams will receive a total of 40 million won in prize money. The grand prize winner will receive 20 million won, the top excellence prize winner will receive 10 million won and 2 excellence prize winners will each receive 5 million won.
In addition to prize money, practical support benefits were also 마련됐다. Winners will be provided Com2uS' global game platform HIVE free of charge and given opportunities to participate in an expert mentoring programme. They will also receive extra points when applying for jobs at Com2uS.
