SK Broadband CEO Kim Sung-soo, in a New Year address on Thursday, thanked employees for proving their strength despite last year’s market slump. SKB plans to target the market in the new year by strengthening customer trust and pursuing technological innovation.

SKB posted achievements last year including regaining the No. 1 position in net share gains, maintaining the top growth rate in dedicated line revenue and breaking ground for the Ulsan data centre.

Kim named strengthening customer trust and AI and digital transformation innovation as this year’s key management tasks. He stressed rebuilding trust by completely redesigning all products and processes from the customer’s perspective and firmly establishing a stance of qualitative growth based on return on invested capital. He also outlined plans to apply AI to core services and customer touchpoints to surpass market limits.

Kim also stressed leaders setting an example, employees’ voluntary challenges and collaboration across departments. He called for corporate culture improvements toward what he described as a “dynamic broadband,” based on the SKMS and SUPEX pursuit culture, while implementing “sticking to the basics” by preventing risks such as service disruptions and security incidents throughout all processes.

Finally, Kim said he would become a CEO who is on the ground, listening to voices from the field and actively supporting employees’ execution. He also stressed achieving the growth they had promised together with the momentum of a red horse that kicks off the ground and leaps upward.
