Dream Age's new next-generation team-based player-versus-player (PvP) game 'Alkeron,' which it is publishing and Bonfire Studio is developing, is stepping up communication with global users.

Dream Age said on Wednesday that Alkeron will participate in Steam Next Fest (SNF), which runs from Feb. 23 to March 2.

SNF is an online event where global users can try various new titles, and is seen as a gateway for new releases, helping boost awareness and build communities. Alkeron will release a demo version early on Steam from Feb. 21, ahead of the event.

Alkeron proved its gameplay through a Korea-Japan community test held in December last year. Through its SNF participation, it plans to again showcase an intense combat experience and accelerate its global market push.

Dream Age, which handles publishing for Alkeron in South Korea and Japan, will also engage with users in line with the global move. From Feb. 22 through the SNF period, it plans special live broadcasts with about 50 influencers with strong fan bases and skills, including Kim Seong-tae, Oa, Eot Woo-jin, Pungwolryang, Tayo, Annyeong Suya and Dyudan, to raise excitement.

On Feb. 7, it held a "Partner Player Day" at the Gen.G Esports HQ in Seoul's Gangnam district and ran Alkeron hands-on sessions for users and members of university gaming clubs.

It will also run a special promotion at Zerobaek PC cafes nationwide from Feb. 23 to March 2. Users will receive 2,500 points for playing Alkeron for 1 hour, and 5,000 points for playing for at least 30 minutes with 3 friends. The event can be joined once per day. Users who complete adding the game to their Steam wishlist will also be entered into a draw for prizes including iPads.

Dream Age Chief Executive Jung Woo-yong (정우용) said, "Through various promotions, including participation in SNF and collaborations with influencers, we will showcase Alkeron's unique action and fun to domestic users." He added, "Starting from this, we will firmly imprint Alkeron's presence in the Korean market."

Alkeron is a battle royale-style PvP game in which 45 players are divided into 15 teams of 3 and compete while climbing a tower. Players can create their own builds by acquiring and combining various items, and its strategic appeal lies in how choices change play styles and combat dynamics.
