AI and data platform company Wise iTech said on Thursday it opened a beta for iDocu, an automated trade document information extraction service.

The company said iDocu incorporates large language model (LLM)-based document understanding technology to go beyond reading text by analysing the location, context and meaning of items in documents to extract information at a high level. It said the service was designed to reliably extract data across various formats without being limited to a specific template, reflecting the characteristics of trade documents in which item locations are not consistent.

iDocu supports the full process from document registration to information extraction, verification and linkage through features including LLM-based high-precision document information extraction, automatic classification of document types, application of data rules by item, integration with existing systems such as ERP, and a web-based user interface.

Wise iTech said it worked with Korea Biznet, an international logistics ERP specialist, to develop iDocu and actively reflected requirements from logistics sites. It stressed that this improved service completeness by covering most shipping documents used in practice, including bills of lading (BL), air waybills (AWB), commercial invoices (CI) and packing lists (PL).

Wise iTech said it plans to enhance and optimise functions based on the results of the beta service operation and to roll out full-scale sales and marketing activities targeting forwarders from the first half of this year.

Wise iTech CEO Dasan Kim (김다산) said, "iDocu is a service that uses LLM technology to substantially improve chronic inefficiencies in the trade industry." He added, "We will continue to introduce work innovations that customers can feel on site based on our AI and data technology capabilities."
