Yang Seung-wook, the new chairman of the Korea Information Industry Association.

The Korea Information Industry Association said on Thursday it has appointed former Electronic Times CEO Yang Seung-wook (양승욱) as its 20th chairman.

The association made the decision at its 44th regular general meeting held at the El Tower in Yangjae-dong on Thursday. Yang previously served as editor-in-chief and chief executive of Electronic Times and as a standing auditor at Com2uS Holdings. His term begins on April 1.

In his inauguration remarks, Yang said he would pursue practical projects that member companies and the industry can feel, and would remake the association into something entirely new.
