Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it has launched its Bespoke AI Steam robot vacuum cleaner with up to 10W suction power. The new product has up to twice the suction power of the previous model, AI-based driving performance and a 100C steam sterilisation function.

It is equipped with security solutions such as Knox Matrix and Knox Vault to block concerns about personal data leaks. It also provides premium service across the entire process from purchase and installation to after-sales support.

Lim Seong-taek (임성택), vice president of Samsung Electronics' Korea business, said, "This new product is a K-robot vacuum cleaner that strengthens core functions such as suction power and hygiene solutions that robot vacuum cleaners need, while fundamentally resolving customers' anxiety with strong security." He added, "We will secure leadership in the robot vacuum cleaner market with Samsung Electronics' own peace-of-mind service that customers can trust."

The product will be released in three lineups: Ultra, Plus and Standard. It also newly applies a Pop-out Combo function that recognises walls and corners in the home and cleans them. The Pop-out mop cleans while staying close to walls, and an expanded Pop-out side brush carefully suctions dust from corners.

It applies an Easypass Wheel that can cross thresholds up to 45 mm, allowing it to move freely even with mats or door sills. Through an RGB camera sensor and infrared LEDs, it recognises coloured liquids as well as transparent liquids and either avoids them or performs focused cleaning. The Steam Clean Station uses 100C steam to sterilise 99.999 percent of bacteria on the mop surface and remove odours. A Self-cleaning washboard that automatically removes dust and contaminants from the mop washing plate was also newly applied.

An Auto Water Supply and Drain model automatically supplies clean water and discharges wastewater directly into a drainpipe after cleaning. It is convenient because there is no need to fill or empty the water tank. Knox Matrix monitors the security status of SmartThings-connected devices and detects and blocks threats. Knox Vault separately stores sensitive personal information such as passwords and authentication numbers in a hardware security chip. End-to-end encryption technology that encrypts image and video data captured by the robot vacuum within the device was also applied.

Bespoke AI Steam received the top Diamond rating in UL Solutions' IoT security safety evaluation. It also obtained the top Standard Plus rating in IoT security certification from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency. It also provides family care functions such as SmartThings-based Home Monitoring and Peace-of-mind Patrol. When users are away, they can check conditions inside the home using the robot vacuum, and if no activity is detected for a certain period, the robot vacuum patrols the home.

◆Blocking video data leaks with end-to-end encryption

Samsung Electronics enabled customers to use the product without an upfront cost burden through its home appliance subscription service, the AI Subscription Club. Subscribers can choose between Self-care, which delivers consumables regularly, and Visit-care, in which an expert visits for a comprehensive inspection. Free repair service is also provided during the subscription period.

Samsung Electronics expanded dedicated robot vacuum service staff at 117 of its 169 service centres nationwide. Product diagnosis and measures are possible through SmartThings-based remote consultation, and users can receive real-time checks of the usage environment and the product exterior through a "visual remote consultation" service.

The Bespoke AI Steam Ultra comes in two colours: Satin Greige and Satin Charcoal. The auto water supply and drain model costs 2.04 million won and the standard freestanding model costs 1.86 million won. The Bespoke AI Steam Plus auto water supply and drain model costs 1.94 million won and the freestanding model costs 1.76 million won. The Bespoke AI Steam Standard auto water supply and drain model is set to be sold at 1.59 million won and the freestanding model at 1.41 million won.
