Shinhan Investment Corp said on Tuesday it published a report titled "ABC of Korea-style BDC" that explains the "Korea-style BDC (Corporate Growth Collective Investment Vehicle)" system in an easy-to-understand way.
The Korea-style BDC is a system designed to allow retail investors to indirectly invest in venture and innovative companies through listed markets. It aims to expand the supply of risk capital and support funding by corporate growth stage.
The report focuses on the background to the introduction of the Korea-style BDC and its policy significance. It includes differences from existing venture and innovative company investment structures, the potential impact on financial markets, overseas cases such as the United States and Britain, and future investment strategies.
Yoon Chang-yong (윤창용), head of Shinhan Investment Corp's research center, said the report explains the Korea-style BDC in an easy-to-understand way, from its structure and rationale for introduction to future investment strategies. He said he hopes it will help investors and market participants understand the system properly and prepare for the future amid changes in the policy environment.
