Datarize's Japan unit, an AI-based customer relationship management (CRM) marketing solution company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global e-commerce platform Cafe24 to target Japan's e-commerce market, it said on Wednesday.

The agreement was pursued to strengthen CRM functions in Cafe24's premium e-commerce operations support service, Cafe24 Pro, and to combine the companies' technologies to help Japanese e-commerce firms use customer data and maximise customer lifetime value (LTV).

Japan's e-commerce market faces challenges despite its continued growth, including rising costs to acquire new customers due to higher advertising spending and unstable profit structures stemming from insufficient management of repeat customers, the company said in its analysis. As a result, demand is growing for CRM strategies that strengthen relationships with existing customers, it said.

Datarize is an AI-automated CRM solution that integrates management from creating segments based on customer behaviour data to sending messages and analysing results. Through the cooperation, the companies plan to support automatic segment creation based on customer behaviour data, marketing campaign execution using multiple channels such as LINE, email and pop-ups, and AI-based performance analysis and optimisation.

A Datarize official said, "Through cooperation with Cafe24, we will support Japanese e-commerce companies so they can use customer data more effectively and achieve long-term sales growth."
