Woo Cheong-ha, SecurityScorecard's Korea country head.

Threat-informed third-party risk management (Threat-Informed Third-Party Risk Management, TPRM) firm SecurityScorecard said on Tuesday it has established a South Korea branch.

Founded in New York in 2013, SecurityScorecard introduced Cybersecurity Ratings and has provided measurable ways for organisations to understand and improve their cyber hygiene.

The company said SecurityScorecard's threat-informed third-party risk management (Threat-Informed TPRM) helps organisations identify and reduce real supply-chain cyber risks beyond simple compliance.

Woo Cheong-ha (우청하), SecurityScorecard's Korea country head, said supply-chain security is no longer simply an IT issue. He said it has become a core business factor that affects revenue, contracts and even corporate survival in global markets. He said customers and investors worldwide increasingly prefer to work with companies that have independently verified cybersecurity posture. He said supply-chain security is emerging as an indicator to measure corporate trust. He said Korean companies have global technology competitiveness, but strengthening transparency and visibility across the supply chain remains an important task. He said SecurityScorecard will support Korean companies in identifying supply-chain risks early and building cybersecurity capabilities aligned with global standards.

Woo has worked in the global cybersecurity industry for more than 25 years and led the establishment of South Korea branches for global security companies including SentinelOne, Varkada and FireMon.
