Retail technology company Lounge X said on Tuesday it is formally adopting an AI-driven retail strategy and will begin pilot operations this year.
The strategy centers on applying AI agent-based robot solutions that analyze store conditions in real time and carry out tailored discounts, coupon issuance and service responses aligned with customer behavior.
Lounge X said it built a system that combines in-store sensors, POS and inventory data, and customer flow analysis, allowing AI agents to monitor overall store operations in real time. Based on this, AI learns and analyzes customer traffic patterns and time-based sales data on its own, then executes optimal discount timing, coupon issuance strategies and customer service protocols.
Lounge X said it has set up a framework of 3 specialized AI agents to systematically upgrade store operations. The order agent analyzes customer order data in real time and automatically runs time-based promotion strategies. The production agent links with in-store robots and equipment to optimize production speed, inventory and wait times. The general manager agent integrates and analyzes storewide data including sales, inventory, customer service and operating metrics. When needed, it proposes or automatically executes pricing strategies, marketing actions and operational improvements, managing the store as a single autonomous operating system.
Lounge X said it will roll out the AI agent retail solution in phases for pilot use from the second quarter of this year, aiming to expand it to all stores within the year.
CEO Dong-jin Kim (김동진) said, "AI Driven Retail is an autonomous operating system that understands stores through data and optimizes itself." He said the AI agent-based structure will become a standard operating model for the retail industry.
