CJ ENM said on Monday it has launched an AI content alliance with small and mid-sized production companies and educational institutions to build an AI content industry ecosystem.

A launch ceremony held the previous day at the CJ ENM Center in Sangam-dong was attended by Jae-hyun Kim (김재현), director-general for the Cultural Media Industry Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as 13 production companies and five educational institutions.

The alliance set five cooperation tasks: expanding AI content production, technology R&D, fostering specialised talent, expanding distribution platforms and building a policy foundation.

In the first half of the year, it will design an AI-focused talent training programme through an industry-academia consultative body and open it at educational institutions in the second half. It will also seek to match participating companies for a joint production project, aiming to begin work in the second half.

Kim said, "The AI content alliance is a starting point for making a leap to become a global AI content hub," adding, "We will support private-sector innovation and establish a foundation for cooperation."

Sang-hyun Yoon (윤상현), CEO of CJ ENM, said, "We will build an AI content ecosystem that connects production, technology, distribution, talent and policy."
