KT said on Thursday it will run promotions including additional roaming data for the winter vacation overseas travel season.

The promotion runs through Feb. 28. It will be applied automatically to all customers who subscribe to eligible plans, without a separate application.

KT will provide up to 6GB of additional data for its Together Roaming plan. During the promotion period, customers can use 6GB (an existing 4GB plus 2GB, 33,000 won), 12GB (8GB plus 4GB, 44,000 won) or 18GB (12GB plus 6GB, 66,000 won).

Y Together Roaming, a plan for customers aged 34 and under, will be available as 7GB (5GB plus 2GB, 19,800 won), 13GB (9GB plus 4GB, 26,400 won) or 19GB (13GB plus 6GB, 39,600 won).

Customers traveling to China or Japan will receive an additional 0.5GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls for the China-Japan Budget Roaming plan. During the promotion period, they can use 3GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls for 25,000 won.

KT expanded the number of countries covered by its Ansym Roaming service, which applies domestic call-rate levels, to 70 from 64. The six newly added countries are Eastern Europe (Bosnia, Slovenia and Slovakia), Asia (Bangladesh and Pakistan) and Africa (South Africa).

KT said it plans to run a customer rewards program from March through August even after this promotion ends.

Kim Young-geol, executive vice president and head of KT's Service Product Division, said the company planned the promotion to provide practical benefits as demand for overseas travel increases. He said KT will continue efforts so customers can receive more benefits when traveling abroad.
