Korea Investment & Securities said on March 10 that its CEO Kim Seong-hwan (김성환) joined a relay campaign to prevent illegal gambling among teenagers.
The campaign is a society-wide movement launched by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to raise awareness of the risks of illegal cyber gambling targeting teenagers, which has recently surged, and to broaden public attention to eradicating gambling.
It is run as a relay in which participants post a verification photo on social media carrying the message, "Illegal cyber gambling targeting teenagers is a fraudulent crime you can never win," and nominate the next participant.
Kim joined the campaign after being nominated by Korea Exchange Chairman Jeong Eun-bo (정은보). He nominated as the next participants Hwang Seong-yeop (황성엽), head of the Korea Financial Investment Association, and Song Myung-joon (송명준), CEO of HD Hyundai Oilbank.
“The problem of youth gambling is a serious issue that goes beyond a simple individual deviation and threatens the mental health of future generations and the social safety net,” Kim said. “Korea Investment & Securities will do its best in various ways so that teenagers who will lead our society in the future can establish sound financial concepts, form healthy investment habits and grow.”
