Kakao Entertainment, or Kakao Enter, said on Monday that its co-CEO Jang Yoon-jung (장윤중) was selected for the '2026 Billboard Global Power Players' list released by U.S. music outlet Billboard.

The list announced by Billboard on March 9 local time selects influential leaders outside the United States who lead the global music market. Kakao Enter said Jang has been selected five times since 2021, with his achievements recognised for contributing to broadening the base of K-pop in the global music market.

Kakao Enter said it is introducing K-pop across various genres to music fans worldwide and expanding artists' areas of activity, based on what it called the world's largest K-pop music library and its music distribution network.

Artists from SM Entertainment, a label under Kakao Enter, are accelerating overseas activities such as major global festivals, world tours and local album releases.

Kakao Enter, which recently announced an incoming co-CEO appointee, plans to focus its capabilities on global and platform businesses centred on IP.

Jang is placing weight on securing mega IP and global expansion. He is also working to detail a global roadmap for all of Kakao Enter's business areas, including music, story and media, and is actively moving to identify new business opportunities for future growth.

Kakao Enter said it plans to create synergies by combining Jang's broad global entertainment industry network and IP business know-how with the IT industry experience of incoming co-CEO appointee Jeong-hee Ko (고정희) in areas including artificial intelligence and platforms.
