SK Broadband said on Monday it won product design awards at Germany's iF Design Award 2026, one of the world's three major design awards, for its Giga WiFi 7 and AI 5 set-top box.
The two products followed last year's Good Design Award win in Japan with a win at this year's iF Design Award, proving global design competitiveness.
The award-winning products applied a minimalist "Living Fit System" design concept focused on harmony with space. Using subdued colours and a matte texture, they were shaped as "home objects" that blend naturally into everyday spaces such as living rooms and bedrooms, earning an assessment that they moved away from the cold, mechanical image typical of telecommunications equipment.
Giga WiFi 7 houses its antenna inside a square panel, allowing it to be mounted behind a wall-mounted TV, and applies a vent structure that reduces heat generation through airflow alone. The AI 5 set-top box hides buttons and the logo from the top and uses a rear cut structure to organise cables for a clean exterior.
Song Jung-beom (송정범), head of marketing strategy at SK Broadband, said it was evidence that the brand philosophy of blending naturally into customers' everyday spaces resonated on the global stage. He said the company would continue to provide a differentiated customer experience that harmonises technology and design.
