Kurly is strengthening its Dawn Delivery system so it can deliver orders by midnight on the same day. It plans to build delivery competitiveness by establishing a twice-daily delivery framework that guarantees arrival times twice a day.

Kurly said on Feb. 9 it has launched a "midnight Dawn Delivery" service that arrives before midnight on the same day, in addition to its existing Dawn Delivery that arrives by 7 a.m. It is a delivery system that allows customers to receive items from 9 p.m. until before midnight.

Midnight Dawn Delivery applies when customers order from 11 p.m. the previous day to 3 p.m. on the same day, with delivery before midnight that day. For orders placed at other times, Dawn Delivery applies as before, arriving by 7 a.m. the next day (8 a.m. in some areas). Midnight Dawn Delivery is available across most areas of the Seoul metropolitan region, including Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi.

Kurly said the introduction of midnight Dawn Delivery has established a twice-daily delivery framework that guarantees arrival times twice a day. Customers who want delivery before going to sleep should order before 3 p.m., while those who want early-morning delivery the next day should order after 3 p.m. All products are packed refrigerated or frozen to keep them fresh until the next morning.

Kurly also said it has completed the midnight Dawn Delivery system by raising the daytime utilization rate of its logistics centers. Customers can check whether Dawn Delivery is available on product detail pages and on the page shown after an order is completed, before ordering at midnight or early morning. A system to check whether an address is eligible for midnight Dawn Delivery is also set to open within this month.

The same midnight Dawn Delivery service will also apply to Kurly N Mart customers. The delivery area remains the same as before, covering most of the Seoul metropolitan region. Kurly N Mart is a grocery shopping service opened in September last year through a collaboration between Kurly and Naver.

Lee Tae-hee (이태희), head of Kurly's operations strategy division, said, "Midnight Dawn Delivery will be an important factor for customers not only because it is fast, but also because the arrival time is predictable." He added, "As more flexible logistics center operations have become possible through this service expansion, we also expect it to strengthen Kurly's logistics competitiveness."
