The Postal Service under the Ministry of Science and ICT said on Feb. 8 it will support access to the "Small Business Management Stability Voucher" through post office counters nationwide and digital channels so anyone can receive assistance conveniently.

The Small Business Management Stability Voucher programme promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups can be applied for online through a dedicated website or “Small Business 24.” Post office banking customers can also apply through a dedicated banner in the post office smart banking app and internet banking.

If applicants choose a post office debit card as the payment card, eligibility will be confirmed after a requirement screening by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. Whether the voucher is issued will be sent via an alert message. Existing post office debit card customers can use it immediately. Customers without a post office debit card can also apply after issuing a card easily at a post office counter or through smart banking.

The Postal Service will run an event for voucher applicants through April 30. It will offer 10,000 won in cashback to customers who newly issue a post office debit card and use the voucher (300 selected by drawing) and to existing customers who cumulatively spend 500,000 won or more (700 selected by drawing). New customers can receive benefits of up to 20,000 won if they meet the requirements.

Kwak Byung-jin (곽병진), acting head of the Postal Service, said, "We will help small business owners nationwide not be left out of government benefits through the nationwide post office network." He added, "We will continue to play the role of inclusive finance as a national financial institution by addressing policy blind spots and helping small business owners stand on their own."
