Goldman Sachs is working with AI startup Anthropic to develop AI agents, CNBC reported on Thursday.
Goldman Sachs is building automation systems with Anthropic AI engineers and is pushing to adopt AI particularly in accounting and customer due diligence, CNBC reported.
Marco Argenti (마르코 아르젠티), Goldman Sachs’ chief information officer, said in an interview with CNBC that the firm is developing Claude model-based AI agents that will sharply reduce the time needed to process transaction accounting and conduct customer due diligence. Goldman Sachs introduced the AI coder Devin last year and has since been expanding the scope of its use of the Claude model.
Goldman Sachs sees AI adoption not as simple automation but as a chance to transform the broader financial industry. Argenti said that once AI agents are introduced, customer onboarding will be faster and accounting issues will be resolved more quickly. He said the bank also plans to apply AI to a range of tasks, including employee monitoring and producing pitchbooks for its investment banking business.
