The Broadcasting and Media Communications Commission said on Thursday that its chairman, Kim Jong-cheol (김종철), and staff visited Bakdal Market, a traditional market in Anyang, Gyeonggi province, near the Gwacheon government complex. It said they bought farm and livestock products and delivered them to a children's welfare facility, Anyang's House.

The commission said the donation was funded by voluntary monthly contributions raised by staff, including Kim. It said it has continued a range of social contribution activities, including support for single-parent families and coal briquette donations.

Kim said efforts to live alongside neighbours in difficulty should not be a one-off. He said he would continue working to spread a mature neighbourly culture that shares social warmth.
