Nexon said on Thursday that it has launched mobile and PC versions of 'Dave the Diver' in China, developed by its development unit Mintrocket.
The launch will be carried out through XD Network, which has serviced multiple globally successful games. The local service name is 'Diver Dave' (潜水员戴夫). The mobile and PC versions will be serviced on the TapTap platform, and the PC version will be released sequentially on major platforms including Steam China and WeGame.
The China mobile version optimized key elements such as UI and UX through multiple tests. It implemented controls that reflect mobile features such as tilting and touch and improved convenience to increase immersion, it said.
Pre-registrations on the TapTap platform have exceeded 1,500,000, and its user rating is 9.4 points. A live-action trailer released alongside it also raised expectations by alternating pixel-graphics sensibilities with gameplay scenes.
Mintrocket prepared a range of collaborations to target the China market. It will run promotions with popular dining brands including KFC and Sushiro, and will also present an in-game content collaboration with the rhythm game Muse Dash.
Meanwhile, 'Dave the Diver' is a globally successful title that surpassed cumulative sales of 7,000,000 copies, the first single-package game in South Korea to do so.
