[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] KB Kookmin Bank said on Thursday it will hold a prize draw event for new customers who sign up for its "KB group account service".
The KB group account is a service that supports group operations such as managing dues and sharing schedules. If idle funds in the group account are kept in the "KB group vault," an interest rate of up to 2.0 percent a year before tax applies even for a single day. The maximum eligible amount is 10 million won. As of Feb. 4, this consists of a base rate of 0.1 percent a year plus a preferential rate of up to 1.9 percentage points a year.
Since September last year, the bank has expanded the service so that group setup and inviting members are possible through the mobile web without the KB Star Banking app.
The event runs through March 31 in two ways. Among customers who sign up for the KB group account service during the event period and apply via KB Star Banking, the bank will hold a draw for groups with at least 2 members participating. It will provide 50,000 won in cash to 10 groups and 100,000 won in cash to 30 groups with at least 3 members participating.
In addition, among groups that meet the main event conditions, if 3 or more members deposit a combined total of at least 100,000 won into the group account, the bank will pay 1 million won in cash to 3 groups through a draw.
A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "We prepared this event to increase the convenience of managing dues through group accounts and to provide financial services closely aligned with customers' daily lives." The official added, "We plan to continue expanding lifestyle-based financial services."
