Samsung Electronics is launching a service that directly visits customers’ residential areas to provide inspections and consultations. Samsung Electronics said on Thursday it will operate its "on-site instant service," setting up service booths at apartment and mixed-use residential complexes and offering everything from product checks to repairs and purchase consultations. Professional staff will run the booths for 1 to 2 weeks near residential areas, providing multiple services at once.

Customers can apply for the service through nearby Samsung Store locations. They can get product checks without applying for a visit service and receive product purchase recommendations tailored to their home environment. Samsung Electronics plans to start in about 50 residential areas this month and expand to about 500 areas nationwide within the year.

At the booths, customers can receive consultations and free inspections covering issues with products in use, installation environments and how to use them. Inspections are free, but parts and labor costs may apply if repairs are needed. If necessary, customers can also use an on-site inspection service in which a Samsung Electronics Service engineer visits the home to check the product’s condition.

Samsung Electronics will also conduct focused inspections timed to seasonal product use. From March to May, it will focus on checking air conditioners’ cooling performance and condition in preparation for summer to prevent customer inconvenience in advance. Purchase consultations are also available for smartphones, PCs, tablets and home appliances.

For home appliances, customers can receive purchase consultations tailored to the relevant apartment or mixed-use complex. Customers who want to install a system air conditioner will be guided on customized products and installation schedules that take into account the home’s structure and size and living patterns. Samsung Electronics plans to provide Mobile and IT product checks and repair services when needed and operate a mobile service center vehicle equipped with smartphone inspection devices. It also plans to prepare an application method through a dedicated online channel in the future.

Kim Myung-hoon (김명훈), an executive director in charge of the Samsung Store customer marketing team, said, "We have prepared a one-stop service where customers can receive everything from consultations to inspections and repairs at once near their homes by strengthening collaboration with Samsung Store and Samsung Electronics Service." He added, "We will continue to strengthen services that approach customers first and maximize customer convenience."
